Privacy Policy

This policy applies to Sky Mood in all its forms — the native apps (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS) and the web edition at get-skymood.vercel.app.

What information Sky Mood uses

• Location — to show your local weather, the app uses either your device's location (only if you grant permission) or a city name you type. Granting location is optional; you can search a city instead.
• That's it. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no names, emails, or contacts collected by the app.

Who your location is sent to

To turn a location into a forecast, Sky Mood makes direct API requests to these services. They receive only the coordinates (or your search text) needed to answer, and Sky Mood has no account with them that identifies you:

• Open-Meteo — weather forecasts and city search.
• BigDataCloud — reverse geocoding to turn coordinates into a place name (web edition).

What is stored, and where

Only on your own device — never on a server we control:

• Your saved/recent places, the last weather reading (so it works offline), and your °C/°F preference.
• The web edition stores this in your browser's localStorage; the native apps use local app storage. You can clear it anytime by clearing the site/app data.

What Sky Mood does not do

• No advertising, no ad networks.
• No analytics, tracking, or profiling.
• No selling, renting, or sharing of your data.
• No tracking cookies.

Permissions

• Location (optional) — used only while you're using the app, to fetch local weather. Deny it and search a city instead.
• On the native app, an optional ground-station folder you configure is read for locally-decoded satellite weather. These are files on your own device only.

Children

Sky Mood is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change with it.
